Throughout its history, flying has captivated imaginations, especially those of the many who have made flying their passion as well as their career. Hangar Talk explores the world of flight from the most compelling vantage point-that of the pilots themselves.
Through extensive interviews with hundreds of men and women, Irv Broughton has collected the compelling stories of each of these individuals from the early days of biplanes to ventures into space. Broughton's own knowledge of the field and insightful questions bring to life the distinct personalities that, through the decades, have been drawn to this exciting and often dangerous profession. The stories are as varied as the individuals they belong to.

| "Today, in an homogenized world, we gasp for the breath of the past-for the kind of adventures that these pages hold. This book pays us back with emotion. Plenty of emotion. And heaps of contrasts . . . What the men and women in this book go through to do what they love-to fly-and what they go through when they fly, we witness in Hangar Talk. It's all there." |
